Before and during dredging, water quality around the dredge site is monitored to assess potential impacts from dredging. An onsite water treatment plant treats the water that accumulates in the CDF. A gradient control system helps to ensure groundwater does not leave the CDF site.
Water quality monitoring consists of real-time turbidity data and daily total suspended solids (TSS) sampling.
An onsite water treatment plant processes CDF groundwater and dredge water.
The Gradient Control System (GCS) uses wells to prevent against offsite migration of groundwater from the CDF site.
